In 1917, however, it was again revived, only to lapse the following year: then 1921 saw the League once more in existence, and this time it survived up to 1927, only to die away through the old bugbear, loss of enthusiasm and lack of adequate support.
In January 1930, with the aid of certain enthusiasts, the Hongkong Kirle League once more raised itself Phoenix-like out of the ashes of its past; and in February 1932 it merged in the present Hongkong Rifle Club, which owed its inception to the Government's support and the allocation of the range out at Kowloon Tong.
Is enthusiasm again waning? One hopes not. The rather disheartening summary of the ups and downs of the Rifle Association, club and League should not be repeated: let us hope some future historian will not have to comment that even here history keeps repeating itself!
